In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
From: Abu Khadeejah Abdul-Wāhid.
To: My brothers and sisters from Ahlus-Sunnah in the West.
As-salāmu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
I pray you are well and in strength of īmān, may Allāh preserve you upon the Sunnah.
As you are aware that this is the blessed month of Ramadaan wherein Allaah revealed the Qur’aan to the noble Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam). It is the month of fasting, night prayer, reciting Qur’aan and giving in charity. The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) was the most generous of creation, yet in the month of Ramadaan he was even more generous.
So let us follow the Messenger Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) in his generosity this month and hope for the reward from Allaah. Salafi Publications is possibly the earliest of all the Salafi organisations in the West. Since 1996 our community has expanded beyond expectations. From printing leaflets and copying audio tapes in the front room of a house, we find ourselves nearly 20 years later with a bookstore, an online bookstore, numerous websites, two mosques and schools – each operating independently with its own management structure, but co-operating where possible.
As the da’wah has expanded into schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, prisons, town and city centres, thousands of Muslims have discovered the true belief and methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah and have embraced its principles. Thousands of non-Muslims through our collective efforts have embraced Islam over the last two decades, and all praise is due to Allaah, the Lord of existence.
Over the last year or so, due to the purchase of a church that is now established as the Masjid as-Sunnah an-Nabawiyyah, followed by the purchase of land for a school and a Masjid added to the existing burden upon the Salafi community and the existing Salafi Masjid, we find ourselves stretched. We ask Allaah to aid us and strengthen us in our efforts, and He is all capable over all affairs. So today I ask you, my respected brothers and sisters amongst Ahlus-Sunnah to aid us in our efforts both locally and in the West in general. I do not ask you on behalf of myself or for any personal gain, rather I ask you to give Sadaqah (Charity) in the path of Allaah for the tremendous cause of spreading and strengthening the Salafi Da’wah in the West. I will not type a long list of the efforts of Salafi Publications or our community efforts, as most Salafis in the West are aware of what has been achieved over the last two decades of book publications, conferences, leaflets, seminars, teaching and travelling to spread the true call of Islaam. Additionally, Salafi Publications has worked tirelessly in combatting extremism and radicalisation of the youth. Our websites are amongst the most visited from any Muslim organisation with millions of visitors annually.
So I ask you, O Sunni, O Salafi, to be a part of this effort by contributing generously to strengthen further the call to the true message of Islaam as it was understood by the Companions of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam). A word about Zakaat:
Salafi Bookstore and Islamic Centre collects Zakaat and in turn spends it in accordance to the Sharee’ah. This Ramadaan I delivered a series of lectures at the Salafi Masjid after each Taraweeh explaining the regulations of Zakaat. Please understand that Zakaat is a pillar of Islaam and must be paid by every eligible Muslim. Listen to that series here: www.SalafiSounds.com
You can pay your Zakaat in any of the ways mentioned above.
Please do not neglect the efforts of the da’wah this Ramadaan and give with an open generous heart. Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam):
“The best charity you can give is the one you give when you are healthy, feeling miserly and fearing poverty and hoping for riches.”
Was-salāmu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
